IT Corporate Roundtable Members

Maintaining Neutrality

This is the place...for Corporate/Government IT Collaboration

Congratulations on your decision to apply for membership to The NYS Forum's IT Corporate Roundtable (ITCR). The annual corporate sponsorship payment is made upon entry of an IT corporation as a member of the IT Corporate Roundtable. The uniform membership cycle commences on October 1st of each year which is consistent with the NYS Forum's program year. Corporations joining during the period October through March shall pay a pro-rated amount less than a full year. Corporations joining in April through September shall pay a full year plus the pro-rated amount for the remainder of the year joined. If payment is not received within six (6) months of the annual due date, the Corporation will lose public standing as a member of the IT Corporate Roundtable and lose the benefits of membership (discounts on Forum events, State Directory, etc.). The IT Corporate Roundtable has set the annual sponsorship level in conjunction with the leadership of The Forum at:

What makes us unique?

The IT Corporate Roundtable is a unique forum where the best of government and IT corporate minds are brought to bear on the persistent and challenging problems of state and local government IT leadership and staff. It is a groundbreaking, national model of productive partnership industry. Membership grew by nearly 50% in 2004 and now includes the biggest names in IT. Members say the "win-win" partnership benefits everyone. For a current list of corporate members visit: www.nysforum.org and click on "IT Corporate Roundtable."

Members Only Benefits

Corporate membership in The NYS Forum is encouraged to provide meaningful interaction in a neutral setting between New York state and local CIO's, IT directors and their staff, and members of the IT corporate community. Mutual benefit is derived from this interaction, whereby:

  • Corporate/public sector relationships are established;
  • Public sector IT leadership and staff learn what the future holds as corporate R&D members provide "windows into the future of IT;"
  • Public sector IT leadership and staff learn about industry concerns, hurdles and opportunities;
  • IT corporate representatives learn of state and local IT needs and how they can best work together to fulfill them;
  • Business partners share information and collaborate on critical issues.

We respectfully remind all members that although The NYS Forum was founded for the exchange of information among public sector IT leaders and their staffs, IT corporate representatives are invited to actively participate in The NYS Forum meetings and committees.

Maintaining Neutrality

The NYS Forum, Inc. provides a unique opportunity for IT Corporate Roundtable (ITCR) Members to network with state/local government leaders and staff in a neutral setting to explore key issues and priorities facing the information technology field.

One of the goals of The NYS Forum is to offer programs and initiatives that enable its public and private sector members to share knowledge and expertise about effective policies, practices and existing and emerging technologies. To achieve this goal we must leverage the rich base of knowledge and human resources resident in our IT Corporate Roundtable and public sector membership while maintaining an environment of commercial and political neutrality.

Commercial and political neutrality is fundamental to The NYS Forum. To ensure that this underlying principle is respected and sustained, members of The NYS Forum must conform to the following guidelines.

In all contexts of The NYS Forum's operations, including educational events, seminars, networking opportunities, work groups, and any activities undertaken to achieve the purposes of the organization, members of The NYS Forum must ensure that:

  • Any and all corporate presentations of any kind (in-person verbal, audio, video, visual text, etc.) made at The NYS Forum sponsored, co-sponsored or hosted events must be entirely commercial product/service neutral.
  • No presentation content, visuals or handouts shall in any way promote or market a corporation's proprietary interests, products or services, or suggest superiority over other alternatives in the marketplace.
  • Members may be allowed to provide marketing literature for program participants, but only as approved and in the manner designated by staff of The NYS Forum.
  • Members will strictly adhere to any and all state/local laws, regulations, policies, Executive Orders or other directives governing corporate/public interactions related to procurement and lobbying, as well as all laws, policies and practices governing The NYS Forum.

Maintaining an environment of commercial and political neutrality is fundamental to why The NYS Forum has earned the widespread respect of state and local government leadership for over 25 years. It is also why The NYS Forum IT Corporate Roundtable members often utter the phrase, "Leave your logo at the door." when discussing the rules of engagement operable in The NYS Forum's context.

I trust you understand our commitment to upholding this standard of full neutrality and trust that your involvement as a member of The NYS Forum will be valuable and productive.
